Site is located in Port Moresby harbour in Papua New Guinea.
There are two main sites: main wharf and apc & overseas wharf which are going to be redeveloped as inner city waterfront land which are currently used for shipping.
The land area of main wharf: 2.5 ha; marine area: 3.5 ha;
The land area of apc & overseas wharf: 8.8 ha; marine area: 23.2 ha;
Their combined existing land area is approximately 11.3ha, but have attached to them some 26.7ha of marine lease. The total combined land and marine area is approximately 38ha.
The masterplan for both sites takes account of the surrounding developments and ipbc’s
time constraint with a focus on existing land.The signature bulding to be developed on the site is known as the main wharf which include a convention centre which could be used for apec 2018. The building must be shown in the context of the whole main wharf site. The signature building will comprise stage 1 of the total port Precinct masterplan.
